Since the time of Aristotle and JS mills to Gandhiand JP there is clear longing for people participation..the importance of people participation in development process has not only been recognised,desired adn repeatedly emphasised but its absence has been a cause of concern and at the advent oof Eigth five year plan The Panchayati raj was born of this concern...
well..People's Participation is generally reffered to when common people take part in govt decision making process..stassen observes that ,"participation is a kind of citizen intervention in administration action"...Political participation,participation in administration,social participation are basically three form of participation....!
But big question here is that where should participate..?well..Participation in decision making,participation in sharing of benefits ,participation in implementation ,participation in monitoring and education should take place......havin lots of good side effects one of critics has observed,"people participation in administration ,being a part of the political mobilisation process in india ,is determined by the elite groups at each level of administration.....
